Chainsaw chain hanger

A wee blogpost about a little project for a local tree surgeon.

It is an example of how i’d like barras 3D to work

As i’d been given a nice pile of chains to sort out and sharpen I used the spare belt hangers i have in the wooden workshop. To sort them and to grade them. I left them on these while working with them and i left the chains hanging on them for when the customer came to see them.

Not only was he happy with the chains and the idea of green cable tie for good, yellow for iffy and red for knackered he also loved the hangers and asked where i got them.

I told him that i’d simply designed and made them.

So rather than printing off some belt hangers i asked him a few questions about what he wanted and then i formed a design in my head. Then sent him across a initial prototype drawing.

So after getting the thumbs up for this i produced a small batch of them.

A customer comes to me with a problem. I then discuss a few possible solutions and then a solution is worked out. I produce prototype drawings and after approval i print out the product
