Blade vs drive

An odd case on the bench today. A customer had probably dropped a blade and the cutter had jumped the rails without them noticing. They had then fitted the blade onto their clipper and this had pushed a moving blade drive into the jammed cutter bar.

Plastic vs steel there was only one winner

This resulted in the end being shaved off the clipper which resulted in some of their other blades rattling.

We carry a blade drive as a stock item so it’s a quick fix, however this groomer is wise and has 3 clippers so it doesn’t need to be a quick fix.

Its a sunny day so outside for the pictures

You can see the cutter has moved backwards with the tension bar being infant of the grove on the cutter.

The back of the cutter is off the rail

From the front you can see the teeth are completely misaligned

Looking from the back you can see the misalignment of the cutter

You can also see little pieces of plastic that where shaved off the blade drive

A poorly light picture of the blade drive in the clipper

The blade drive out in the open and you can see the damage quite clearly
