Generator storage and E10 petrol
Following on from a post just after Storm Arwen about generator storage over on Facebook
I have discovered a bit more since then.
The main problem with fuel is the ethanol content which has just recently increased to 10%. Ethanol is an alcohol which just loves pulling water in from the atmosphere and then evaporating leaving the water behind. This is not good for a small engine carburettor.
So you can follow my advice above to drain the tank and carb which is a bit fiddly.
or you can buy fuel without any ethanol which is blended to hang around in fuel tanks
I have found two options on the market
Firstly there is Aspen fuels who are quite expensive but there is dealers in Arbroath, Forfar, Aberdeen, Inverurie who stock it
Secondly there is Storage plus which is cheaper per litre than Aspen BUT the delivery is HOW MUCH!!! so only worth it if you are buying a pallet of it.
