Heiniger saphir/Opal hinge replacement
Replacing the hinge on a Heiniger Saphir or a Opal clipper as part of a service
This can be purchased along with a service when you know the clipper needs a new hinge
Or I will contact you during a service to say your clipper needs a new one, then simply purchase this and it shouldn’t need shipping.
The old type of hinge is a cast piece while the new style is pressed steel and it doesn’t have a bar going across the top.
A common failure of the heiniger saphir and opal clippers is the hinge fails but you might not notice it
The most common failure are the two small pins on the back of the hinge snap off meaning the blade release button is no longer spring loaded
The other failure is the sides of the hinge wear which makes you blades loose.
Another common failure is a clipper being dropped and the hinge is broken.
